Peacock Throw
Spring 2015 / Wrightscape / Mark Keane
This project involved designing a Frank Lloyd Wright “Gift Box”, the traditional semester ending project for students studying under Wright. This project draws on Wright’s tendency to look to nature for inspiration and the transformation of the organic to geometric. Using a peacock as the subject of study, a strict proportioning grid was used to reduce the peacock to its most basic shapes. The resulting pattern was then used as the graphic for a woven throw blanket.
